Basar, meaning both "vision" (Arabic) and "to succeed" (Turkish), is a carved spirit guide embodying the sight and will needed for a successful journey.

 

This piece was exhibited in the 79th Annual Wabash Valley Exhibition, at Swope Art Museum in Terra Haute, IN, juried by award winning poet, critic, and curator, John Yau.

 

Hand-carved from the bark of a fallen cottonwood tree and finished with Howard Feed-N-Wax.
